With Netflix now offering a whopping 70% of its library of movies for free, you can expect to find plenty of titles from this weekend to fill your Netflix library.
Here’s what you need to know ahead of the movie release.
March 8: Black Panther (Marvel) Director: Ryan CooglerBlack Panther is a Marvel superhero movie that follows the exploits of a young African-American superhero, aka Black Panther.
While the movie is not as overtly political as some of the superhero movies out there, the fact that it is being made by the same people who are making some of Hollywood’s biggest movies has been seen as a positive sign.
This movie is also one of the few superhero films that I’m personally happy with, and while it may not have the same quality as some other superhero movies, I think the overall story is well written and really tells a story that I feel strongly about.
I know the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been getting a little stale lately, but I do think that it’s important to have a strong cinematic universe for all of the characters, and Black Panther is an excellent example of what the Marvel Universe could be if it was more inclusive of different races.
Black Mirror (Netflix) Directors: Ryan Gosling, Charlie Brooker, and Charlie KaufmanNetflix is known for its dark, twisted humor, and Black Mask: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is one of its darker, funnier offerings.
The film follows an undercover cop as he investigates a series of murders and murders of a group of men who are part of a criminal organization called the Skulls.
After investigating the murders, he comes across a mysterious black mask worn by a man in the middle of a room and realizes it is a member of the Skull Society, a group that has been involved in several assassinations of prominent citizens over the years.
Charlie Brooker has a ton of success as the director of The Knick, and I feel that Black Lanterns is his best film to date, even more so considering the fact he directed the film.
He brings a great blend of humor and action to the film, and his portrayal of an elite group of soldiers is a fun, unexpected twist that gives it a unique spin on the superhero genre.
