The Vultures, the movie franchise from the makers of The Angry Birds franchise, will be re-imagined as a series of cartoons based on the viral video series The Vicious Cycle, Variety has learned.
The Vulture movie series is based on a viral video of the fictional children’s book series by writer David W. Dyer and artist Jeff Grubb, which depicts a series a cartoonist (Dyer) and his daughter (Grubb) attempting to create a book that teaches children about bullying.
The series, titled The Vengeful Vulture, was released on October 18, 2017, by Walt Disney Studios and Netflix.
The original series was a popular viral video and garnered millions of views, with fans posting their own videos to YouTube, Vine, and Facebook.
However, the series is being re-edited into a series that is geared towards younger audiences.
The film series was originally created for Disney Junior and was also produced by Disney’s Animation Studios.
In 2018, the original Vulture series will be retitled as the Vulture Adventures series, according to Variety.
Variety has reached out to Disney for comment.
